Show Up As You Are
“My hair is doing that thing again…” “My anxiety is flaring today…”
“I just don’t feel like I can take on the day wearing anything but a sweatshirt and yoga pants…”
We get it. Because we have those days too. That’s the joy of the ModernWell community. Judgment doesn’t exist here. Our members know there isn’t any room for it inside this safe space.
ModernWell was built through planning, construction, and a driving goal. But the ModernWell Woman was created through community, acceptance, and support.
“I love ModernWell for so many reasons, especially the friendships I’ve built and the camaraderie I’ve found here. I can come to work in my ripped up jeans and Birkenstocks and work side by side another woman in heels and a business suit,” explains Jen Jones, a ModernWell member, marketing expert, and entrepreneur. “We are a diverse group of women – in terms of our work, ages, style, beliefs, personalities – and we all make space for one another and support one another. It’s the warm and welcoming workspace I’ve always dreamed of, the one I look forward to coming into every day.”
The ModernWell Woman is passionate and determined. She might be a mother. She might be a wife. She might be an employee or she might be a CEO, but enthusiasm and a desire to break barriers is a golden thread that is woven throughout every ModernWell Woman.
Often times, new ModernWell members don’t realize that their membership is more than what meets the eye. This was the case for President at Gallagher Foundation, Megan Prindiville. “When I came to ModernWell I was simply looking for a nice co-working space. What I found was a community that meets me where I am and supports me both personally and professionally. It does not matter what you use the space for, there are entrepreneurs, artists, lawyers, writers, nonprofit directors, you name it. Others are coming back from staying at home with kids and using their time at ModernWell to network with other women and figure out where they will launch and what their next chapter is. The supportive community is what makes ModernWell such a special place.”
“Showing Up As You Are” isn’t limited to outward appearances. Waking up and just feeling “off” can change the trajectory of your entire day— even your week! Sometimes just leaving the house and showing up is the success for that day. And that’s ok!
Some days are more productive than others because success can’t be tracked in a straight line. There will be setbacks along the way. Some days, things just seem to fall into place and you are feeling on top of your game. Other days, just getting dressed is the day’s victory!
Feminist Book Club founder, and host of Feminist Book Club: The Podcast, Renee Powers loves ModernWell for that reason. “As someone who works from home, it’s so nice to have a space like ModernWell where I can get out of my sweatpants and throw on a little lipstick. But as someone who works from home, it’s also nice to have a space like ModernWell where I can show up IN my sweatpants if getting dressed and wearing lipstick feels like too much effort for the day.
Regardless of your need for ModernWell now or in the future, it will be what you need- a community of zero-judgment, inclusivity, and supporters cheering you on every step of the way.
