5/20 I Swear I Have ADHD
Did you know ADHDers are 300% more likely to become entrepreneurs? This is because our brains are wired for innovation, resilience, and thinking outside the box. But even with all that brilliance, many ADHD entrepreneurs and adults still struggle to feel like the rockstars we are. This workshop explores why, and gives attendees the tools to better understand their brains, build habits that work for them, and reconnect with their favorite version of themselves.
Workshop Details:
This workshop will take place at ModernWell on Tuesday, May 20th from 12:30pm-3:00pm.
I Swear I Have ADHD (How to stop swearing and DO something about it!)
This workshop is lead by Cara Thorpe founder of Yellow Parachute.
Did you know ADHDers are 300% more likely to become entrepreneurs? This is because our brains are wired for innovation, resilience, and thinking outside the box. But even with all that brilliance, many ADHD entrepreneurs and adults still struggle to feel like the rockstars we are.
This workshop is here to shift that story. Over the course of the workshop, we’ll unpack the unique strengths and struggles that come with the ADHD brain and explore ways to work with your mind—not against it. Here’s what we’ll explore together:
- Why You’re Probably Here
- A breakdown of common ADHD challenges—and how they show up differently for each of us.
- I Thought It Was Just Me
- A moment to reflect on the power of shared experience and the diversity within the ADHD community.
- What Exactly Are Executive Function Skills?
- A deep dive into 12 skills that help with planning, regulating emotions, getting things done, and more.
- Now What?
- A guided practice in applying what you’ve learned—so you can take aligned action in a way that works for you.
By the end, you’ll walk away feeling seen, equipped, and empowered to create a life that fits your brain and your goals—on your terms.
About Yellow Parachute:
Cara Thorpe founded Yellow Parachute Learning Partners in 1999, during her second year as a classroom teacher. She leaned in to her creative strengths and entrepreneurial calling to help neurodiverse students discover learning on their own terms.
Cara’s mission to transform learning became even more personal with the discovery that each of her children have neurodiverse needs. And, as Cara collected her list of degrees, certificates, and certifications, she was able to obtain her own ADHD, anxiety, and depression diagnoses as a 2e learner.
Her family’s personal struggles influenced Cara’s brain-based and advocacy research to help students, parents, and teachers gain more information about little-known executive function skills. This research has culminated in YP’s proprietary Quantum Jump curriculum.
Yellow Parachute recruits talented teachers, coaches, social workers, psychologists, and relationship-builders to serve our clients in a variety of ways. The team meets regularly as a professional coaching group to refine our coaching practices.
